Community Update: Summer Events in Sussex

The closure of the Maple Avenue bridge is creating challenges for many residents and visitors alike and we truly appreciate your patience as we all adjust to new travel routes.

Our major summer events will continue as scheduled, including favourites like the Flea Market and the Balloon Fiesta. These events are an important part of our community—supporting local businesses, bringing people together, and showcasing everything Sussex has to offer. We recognize this comes at a time when travel in and around town is already more difficult, and we are working hard to manage that impact.

Our team is actively planning for higher traffic volumes, with detours and signage to help keep everyone moving safely and efficiently. We also have contingency plans in place for emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of both our residents and visitors remains a top priority.

As tourists come to Sussex to enjoy everything our community has to offer, we ask for your continued patience and kindness on the roads. A little extra time and understanding will go a long way in making this a great season for everyone.
