2026 Swearing in of Council

June 1 marked a meaningful moment for Sussex as our newly elected Council members officially took their Oath of Office.

The ceremony marks an important moment for Sussex, representing the transition into a new Council term and reaffirming each Councillor’s commitment to leadership, accountability, and service. Throughout their term, Council will work together to make decisions that support residents, strengthen the community, and guide the continued growth of Sussex.

Congratulations to our Sussex Council, Mayor Marc Thorne, Deputy Mayor Tim Wilson, Councillor Graham Milner, Councillor Catherine MacLeod, Councillor Fred Brenan, Councillor Doug Bobbitt, Councillor Gisele McKnight, Councillor Ann-Marie Snyder, as they begin this important term of service.

We are grateful for those who put their names forward to serve their community and excited for the leadership, ideas, and collaboration this Council will bring.

Surrounded by family and friends, newly appointed Council members celebrated the beginning of their term in a room filled with encouragement and community pride.

The support and encouragement of family and friends plays an important role for those who dedicate their time to public service, and Council is fortunate to have such strong support as they begin this new term.

The evening served as a meaningful reminder of the strong sense of community that makes Sussex special. Thank you to everyone who joined in celebrating this important milestone and showing their support as Council begins this next chapter.
