PUBLIC NOTICE – HEARING OF OBJECTIONS – ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT, BY-LAW 1350-24-01

The Town of Sussex proposes to amend its Zoning By-Law, By-law #1350-10. 

The proposed By-law Amendment may be inspected by interested citizens during working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Town Office, 524 Main Street.

Written objections to the proposed by-law amendment will be received by the undersigned at the Town Office until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024.

A Hearing of Objections will be held at the Council Chambers of the Town Office at 524 Main Street, Sussex NB on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. to hear these objections.

Any persons wishing to speak for or against these written objections may do so at that time.

PUBLIC NOTICE – Business Improvement Area Budget

The Town Clerk has received a proposed 2025 Budget for the Sussex Downtown Business Improvement Area. Revenue for the proposed budget will be raised by a 2025 special levy as outlined in the Business Improvement Areas Act.

The 2025 special levy to realize this budget is 18.0 cents per 100.00 dollars of assessment. Written objections from qualified objectors to this budget will be received in the office of the Town Clerk until the close of business day on the 28th day of October, 2024. Written objections will be before the Town Council at a meeting of the Council to be held on the 28th day of October, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers of Town Hall.

Sussex intends to read a summary of the proposed Sussex Zoning By-law #1350-24 instead of reading the by-law in its entirety.

The purpose of this by-law is to consolidate the Town of Sussex Zoning By-law 1350-21 and the Village of Sussex Corner Rural Plan By-law #124-14, and to include unincorporated areas acquired through local governance reform in 2023 that previously lacked designation.
