PUBLIC NOTICE: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE TOWN OF SUSSEX PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE BY-LAW


Notice is hereby given that the Council of Sussex intends to consider the adoption of a by-law amending the Town of Sussex Planning Advisory Committee By-law, enacted pursuant to the Community Planning Act.

The purpose of the proposed amendment is to repeal and replace the Planning Advisory Committee by-laws inherited from the former Town of Sussex and Village of Sussex Corner with a single unified by-law governing the Planning Advisory Committee for Sussex.

Council will consider the proposed by-law amendment at a meeting to be held as follows:

PUBLIC NOTICE: ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT 1350-24-11

In accordance with Section 111 of the Community Planning Act, SNB 2017, c.19 and amendments thereto, PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that Sussex Council intends to consider an amendment to the Zoning By-law by rezoning parcels of land located on the west side of Lansdowne Avenue South having P.I.D. #30369961 from One Unit Residential (“R1”) to Medium Density Residential (“R3”) zone to permit a multi-unit development as shown on the plan Schedule “A”.

The Planning Advisory Committee Meeting to review the proposed by-law will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Sussex Town Hall.

The Hearing of Objections will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 6:30p.m. in the Council Chambers of Sussex Town Hall.

Written feedback, including objections or comments, on the proposed amendment should be forwarded to the undersigned no later than Wednesday, September 16, for the Hearing of Objections. Please note, anonymous submissions will not be considered.

Sussex Council intends to read a summary of the proposed By-Law #1051-25, A By-Law To Regulate Traffic in Sussex.

The purpose of this by-law is to regulate traffic and parking on municipal streets within the Sussex in order to enhance public safety, improve traffic flow, and support the efficient use of roadways.

Public Notice: Sussex Flood Mitigation Project Environmental Impact Assessment Registration

The Town of Sussex has registered the proposed Sussex Flood Mitigation Project with the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government (NBDELG) as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process.

The proposed project is intended to reduce flood impacts by constructing two engineered diversion channels that would redirect peak flows from Parsons Brook and Trout Creek away from the downtown core and into the Kennebecasis River floodplain.

Residents are encouraged to learn more about the project and participate in the review process. A public Open House will be held:

Project documents are available at Sussex Town Hall, online at www.sussex.ca, and through NBDELG EIA Projects Under Determination Review (Project #1659).

Public comments will be accepted until August 28, 2026 and submitted as part of the EIA review process.
