On 21 May 2023, the 8th Canadian Hussars Regiment will celebrate its 175th anniversary, as the oldest continuously serving Cavalry Regiment in Canada. Additionally, the Regiment will commemorate its long-standing relationship with the Netherlands by hosting the Dutch Ambassador and incorporating the raising of the flag of the Town of Eelde, Netherlands as part of its 175th anniversary celebrations.

Sussex Council has begun the legislated process to amend the water and sewer By-laws of the former Town of Sussex and the former Village of Sussex Corner to amend the existing by-laws by adjusting the Schedules of the by-laws to establish universal fees for service where all residents and commercial customers connected to the municipal water distribution systems and the sanitary sewer collection system pay an equitable service fee equal in all areas of service in the new Sussex.
