November is Family Violence Prevention Month
November 12, 2025
Flag Raising
In support of Family Violence Prevention Month, representatives from the Sussex Vale Transition House held a flag-raising at the Sussex Community Services Department.

This annual November campaign shines a crucial spotlight on an issue that affects countless families and individuals, including those within our own community.
Why This Month Matters
Family Violence Prevention Month challenges us to look beyond closed doors and acknowledge the experiences of those living with harm. This month brings attention to the many forms of family violence and encourages communities to support prevention, early intervention, and those affected.
The Role of Sussex Vale Transition House
For 35+ years, the Sussex Vale Transition House has been a comforting presence in our community, offering women and families a safe place to turn during their most difficult moments. Their team provides shelter, crisis support, safety planning, outreach, and compassionate guidance to help survivors find stability and strength.
Through education, advocacy, and direct support, the Transition House empowers individuals to seek help when they need it most. Events like the flag raising remind survivors that they are not alone and that support is here in Sussex.
