Country Living Days Are Back! August 25 & 26, 2026

A Sussex tradition is making a comeback! Sussex is excited to partner with the Kings County Agricultural Fair to bring back Country Living Days.

As the Agricultural Fair gets underway, Sussex will be adding even more to the festivities with Country Living Days activities for the whole family. Join us in celebrating an old tradition while making new Country Living Days memories!

Tuesday, August 25:

Kids Dress-Up Parade

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Kids, it’s your turn to join the parade!

Children are invited to dress up and take part in the 4-H Country Living Days Parade. Wear anything fun — a favorite character, sports jersey, colorful costume, themed clothing or an outfit that shows off your personality.

Participants are asked to line up behind the 4-H participants and animals before the parade begins.


Wednesday, August 26:

Teddy Bear Picnic

Time: 10:00–11:00 a.m.
Location: Burton Park, 8 Leonard Drive

Grab your favorite teddy bear or stuffed friend and join us for a morning of activities, games and plenty of fun!

Mascot Day

Time: 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Location: Kings County Agricultural Fair, Princess Louise Park

Get ready to meet some familiar and friendly faces! Local businesses, organizations and community groups are invited to bring their mascots to the Fair for an afternoon of family fun and photos.

Bubble Party

Time: 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Location: Burton Park, 8 Leonard Drive

Get ready for bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles! Come ready to play, laugh and enjoy an afternoon of bubbly fun.

Chocolate Bar Bingo

Time: 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Location: Burton Park, 8 Leonard Drive
Entry Fee: One chocolate bar

Join us for an afternoon of bingo, fun and chocolate!

Bring one chocolate bar as your entry fee, grab your bingo card and get ready to play.

Potato Sack Race Corporate Challenge

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Princess Louise Park Field, across from Golden Jubilee Hall

Local businesses and organizations are invited to put forward a representative for a little friendly competition and plenty of bragging rights!

Challenge Rules:

  • One participant per organization.
  • Both feet must stay inside the sack at all times.
  • Participants must hold the top of the sack with at least one hand.
  • Hop or jump your way to the finish line — no running or walking.
  • If you fall, get back up and keep going as long as you remain in the sack.
  • Slipping completely out of the sack will result in disqualification.

Tug of War Corporate Challenge

Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Princess Louise Park Field, across from Golden Jubilee Hall

Get your team together and put your strength to the test! Local businesses and organizations are invited to compete in the Country Living Days Tug of War Corporate Challenge.

  • Teams consist of eight participants.
  • Winners advance to the next round.
  • Team registration is required.
  • Registration deadline: August 24.

Share Your Country Living Days Memories

We’re taking a trip down memory lane! Help us create a special Country Living Days Memory Board by sharing copies of your favorite photos from celebrations past.

Whether it’s a parade, family outing, fair activity or another favorite Country Living Days moment, we’d love to see it.
