Kiwanis Comfort Station Ribbon Cutting

Kiwanis Comfort Station Ribbon Cutting – Saturday July 4th the official ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the Kiwanis Comfort station located in O’Connell Park in Sussex. This project was identified during campaigning for the 2012 Town of Sussex municipal election. Many families identified that having a place to get shelter from weather, change for the splash pad and having accessible washrooms was important to their families. The Town of Sussex partnering with the Province of NB, the Kiwanis club of Sussex and JDI, made the New Kiwanis Comfort station come to life. The structure is roomy, inviting and a safe place for all families to spend time. Cutting the ribbon are: Mayor Marc Thorne, Bruce Northrup MLA and past president for the Sussex Kiwanis Club Dave Bean. Also in attendance were Robert Fawcett with JDI, members of Kiwanis, Kelly Peters of Polyline Designs, CAO Scott Hatcher, Community Service Director Jason Thorne and Community Service Officer Roberta Craft.

The Town of Sussex Emergency Operations Centre is currently active to monitor the Town response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).More Information
