Sections 15 and 70 of the new Local Governance Act state that a Municpality may, rather than reading a by-law in it's entirety, give public notice and read a by-law summary prior to enactment.

Code of Conduct By-law, By-law #201-19

The Town of Sussex intends to read a summary of the proposed Code of Conduct By-law, By-law #201-19 instead of reading the by-law in its entirety. The purpose of this by-law is to establish standards for the ethical conduct of members of Council relating to their roles and obligations as representatives of the Municipality and a procedure for the investigation and enforcement of these standards.

A By-law to amend Schedule “A” of a By-law to Regulate Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Systems, By-law #1203-10-18, Schedule “A” Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Rate Charges

The Town of Sussex intends to read a summary of the proposed by-law to amend Schedule “A” of a By-law to Regulate Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Systems, By-law #1203-10-18, Schedule “A” Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Rate Charges, instead of reading the by-law in its entirety.  The purpose of this by-law is to provide the water and sanitary sewer rates and storm sewer and standard charges effective January 1, 2019.

The Town of Sussex intends to read a summary of the proposed By-law Respecting Dangerous or Unsightly Premises Within the Town of Sussex, By-law #1100-19 instead of reading the by-law in its entirety.  The purpose of this by-law is to identify that Sections 130 to143 of the Local Governance Act apply to the entire area within the town limits of the Town of Sussex.

The Town of Sussex intends to read a summary of the proposed By-law for Maintenance and Occupancy Standards for Residential Properties within the Town of Sussex, By-law #701-19 instead of reading the by-law in its entirety.  The purpose of this by-law is to establish the standards for maintenance and occupancy of residential properties within the boundaries of the Town of Sussex. Included in this by-law is Schedule A – Residential Properties Maintenance and Occupancy Code.
