The Sussex Youth Citizenship Award is designed to recognize the outstanding contributions of young people to the quality of life in the Sussex Region.
Each year, community organizations and citizens at large, will be encouraged to nominate a young person they feel is deserving of this Award.
The Youth Citizenship Award is open to youth who are currently attending school up to the age of 28.
Individuals or organizations wishing to nominate a young person must complete a nomination form below. The deadline for entries is March 10th.
The selection of the young person who will receive the Youth Citizenship Award will be made by a Community Committee appointed by Council. Decisions will be based on information provided. Documentation will be kept confidential and used only to assist this Committee in reaching a fair decision. Nominations will be evaluated on the scope and impact of the contributions made.
In April Council will host a Volunteer awards ceremony where they will also honour the Youth Citizenship Award recipient and award them with a contribution towards their education.
