The Province of NB has published a self-assessment tool for COVID-19.
Message from Mayor Thorne
By now everyone is aware of many steps that have been taken by the province, municipalities, businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals since our Premier declared a state of emergency last week. To date, the presumptive and confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection have been restricted to individuals who have traveled abroad and to those who have been in close contact with them. It is critical that all of us do our part to ensure that the spread of this virus does not become community-based whereby people begin to become infected without knowing where the contamination came from or who it came from.
In an effort to reduce the chances of a community spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus we will be closing all of our playground equipment in every park immediately and ask that families refrain from using any of our play equipment until we determine it is safe.
We understand that the emergency measures introduced by the province are stressful on everyone but they are necessary if we are to protect our most vulnerable community members. We encourage individuals and families to take time to exercise and be outdoors but please do so responsibly. Our trails will remain open for use as we believe that they are a great resource for remaining physically and mentally well. If you do choose to use our trails please be mindful of maintaining appropriate distances between yourselves and others and also keeping control of your pets. Do not let them run free.
Remain kind and considerate. We will get through this.
